Raven was six years old when The Cosby Show ended. She had spent half of her life working on it. "When it ended, I had to realize I wouldn't be seeing these people again that I'd spent three years with," she said. In 1993, Raven joined the cast of ABC's Hangin' With Mr.Cooper, a sitcom starring Mark Curry as Mr. Cooper, a former professional basketball player who moved back to his hometown to become a coach at his old high school. During the show's first season, Mr. Cooper shared his house with his old friend Robin Dumars (Dawnn Lewis) and Vanessa Russell (Holly Robinson). At the start of the second season, Robin had moved out of the house and Mark's cousin, Geneva Lee (Saundra Qaurterman), and her daughter Nicole (Raven), moved in. Raven remained a major player in the comedy during its second through fifth seasons. The show enjoyed good ratings and, beginning in 1993, it was an important part of the netwok's popular Friday night lineup. "I was seven to eleven on that one," she told The Today Show. "I had a great time on there. And that one I remember more because I was a bit older." Raven still keeps in contact with her Hangin' With Mr.Cooper co-stars. She was a junior bridesmaid in Holly Robinsons Peete's 1995 wedding. And comedian Mark Curry has visited the set of That's So Raven.
While working on Hangin' With Mr.Cooper, she also appeared in Queen. The mini-series was produced by David Wolper and adapted from the story writer Alex Haley was working on at the time of his death. The 1993 mini-series starred Halle Berry as the title character and also featured actors including Danny Glover, Martin Sheen, and Ann-Margret. Queen, whose mother was a slave and father was a plantation owner, endured the Civil War, segregation and prejudice. Raven portrayed Queen as a young girl.
