Here are Raven’s
favorite recipes.
Have you ever wondered what
Raven likes to cook? Here is a list of her favorite recipes.
All these recipes are really good and not to hard to make. So get your
cooking supplies ready it’s time to cook up some food the way raven
likes it.
Crème
Brule
In heavy saucepan, combine eggs, cream,
sugar and salt. Cook and stir over low heat, until mixture coats a metal
spoon. Cook 2 minutes more. Stir in vanilla. Pour into 1-quart shallow
baking dish. Chill. Sift brown sugar over top. Set in shallow pan of
ice cubes and water. Place on middle rack and broil at 400 degrees 4
to 5 minutes or until a bubbly crust forms. Serve warm or chilled. |
What you need:
3 slightly beaten
eggs
2 cups light cream
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup packed
brown sugar

Cajun
Gumbo
For a chicken gumbo: Use 1 chicken
and about 1 pound smoked sausage.
For a Seafood Gumbo: Use 2 pounds cleaned shrimp, 1 can crabmeat,
up to 2 pounds crawfish (if you can find this), 1 pint oysters, 4 quarts
water.
In a large stockpot, add chopped vegetables, water, roux, chicken and
sausage, and seasonings (if making seafood gumbo, wait to add meat until
last hour). Cook on medium heat. Use file to taste if desired. |
What you need:
ROUX:
1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cup flour
GUMBO:
Cayenne pepper
1 pound onion
1 small bell pepper
1/2 cup green onion
2 stalks celery
Salt and black pepper
2 pods garlic
1/2 cup parsley

Crusted Salmon
Lay salmon in an unheated flat pan
and coat well with white sugar. Pan fry the salmon for a few minutes
and then add the sugar. Fry until caramelized. Enjoy! |
What you need:
1 whole dressed
salmon, thawed
1 cup white sugar

Ziti
Cook pasta (ziti noodles) until they
are done. While cooking the noodles, shred the mozzarella cheese with
a cheese grater. Then, add a meat marinara sauce of your choice and
the mozzarella cheese. Bake until brown at 375. |
What you need:
Ziti noodles
Meat marinara sauce
(any will do)
1 block of mozzarella
cheese

Creamy
Sweet Potato Pie
Bake the pie crust as directed and
set aside. Beat sweet potatoes until smooth. Set aside. Mix brown sugar,
cornstarch and spices in 3-quart saucepan until well blended. Stir in
eggs, sweet potatoes and evaporated milk until well blended. Cook over
medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils.
Boil and stir 2 minutes. Cool 5 minutes. Pour into pie crust. Refrigerate
3 hours. Spread top of pie with Reddi Whip or any whipped cream. Refrigerate
any remaining pie immediately. Serves 6. |

1 frozen regular pie
crust
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
2 eggs
1 (16 oz.) can sweet
potatoes (2 cups)
1 (12 oz.) can
evaporated milk
